Dual Enrollment

Mariner High School Accelerated Opportunities

Program Overview

Dual Enrollment allows high school students to take college-level courses and receive high school and college credit at the same time. The main focus of a dual enrollment educational track is to shorten the time necessary for a student to complete the requirements of a high school diploma and a postsecondary degree.

There is no cost to the student for dual enrolment courses; tuition is free. The books needed for each course are provided free of charge to public high school students.

To be eligible for dual enrollment students must be enrolled in a public school or registered as a home school student within The Lee County School District. If a student attends a private school in Florida, the school must be assigned a DOE school number. Students must attain a 3.0 unweighted GPA for seniors. Sophomores and juniors need a 3.5 and second-semester freshmen are required to have a 3.5 unweighted, cumulative GPA. Juniors with 70% of academic classes at the honor-level can qualify with a 3.0 unweighted GPA. Students must also attain a minimum passing score on the ACT-E, SAT - R, or CPT. Students must be a least 14 years old.
